Fan-Made TMNT Party Wagon or "Cowabunga, Dude! Roadtrip!"

College student/major Ninja Turtle fangirl Brittney Schneck built this awesome tribute to the 'Heroes on a Half-Shell' (Turtle Power) signature ride out of a '94 Dodge Caravan.

She worked at two jobs (grocery store cashier and in her dad's auto detailing shop) to pay for everything in and on this ride. ON TOP of paying for her college studies and the van's insurance

She hand-crafted all the various gun-ports, radar dish, and other sundry body parts to make sure the minivan looked the same as the classic 'Party Wagon' toy.

Is this not awesome? Is this not the coolest thing ever? I certainly think so.

Geeky Fashion Statement or "On Your Hands Too Much Time You Have"

I love it when someone demonstrates their love of all things geeky in such a way. Pictured here is 'mamaedgar', a member of Craftster, a arts & crafts website. She is modelling a knitted Yoda hat she made for her Star Wars loving four year old son. I have to say this is 'awesome!

You know your mom loves you when she goes out of her way to make something like this for you. I should know. My mom made a 'Sword of Power' and matching shield for my Halloween 'He-Man' costume when I was 5 years old.

Video of the Day: Crazy Kids and Their Stunts

After seeing some of the insane acrobatics in this video, I've come to the conclusion that it is entirely possible for comic book heroes like Nightwing or Daredevil could actually exist.

NBA Bans 'Tricked' Out Sneakers or "You Can't Be Like Mike"

For the second time ever, the NBA has banned players from using a particular brand of sneaker.

However, to get a perspective on this decision, you'd have to travel back to 1985 and the debut of Michael Jordan and his namesake foot gear, the Air Jordans. See, the NBA at the time had a strict dress code when it came to sneakers: all-white coloring, NO exceptions. So whenever MJ (Jordan, not Jackson) strode onto the court  wearing these black and red Nikes, he got slapped with a $5,000 fine. EVERY time. And Nike paid his fines, EVERY time.

So, the decision to ban use of the Athletic Propulsion Lab Concept 1 (APLC1), which contains a spring-based system that adds 3 inches to your vertical leap, is not unprecedented. Like any other sports organization, the NBA has a specific ruling that forbids such game-enhancing gear from being used.

Which means, if you want to play in the NBA and your jump shot sucks, you're screwed. Unless you sell a lot of shoes. In which case, Nike will pay all your bills.

Lamborghini Makes Tractors or "Ever Wanted To Plow The Back 40 ...Doing 180 MPH?"

Lamborghini is making tractors.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Lamborghini, the Italian auto maker responsible for one of the fastest production cars on the planet, is into making farm machinery. Well, they have actually been making tractors and the like for awhile now.

But seriously, 'tractors'? I guess their product runs way faster than a Deere.

Video of the Day: The Day That MTV Died!

This is it. At the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, Kid Rock performed on stage with two legendary groups: Run DMC and Aerosmith. I firmly believe that this was the precise moment that MTV began to suck.

Either that or when they started production on "Real World/Road Rules Challenge". Either or.

Top 5 Movie Themes of the '80s

Movies. They wouldn't be as epic and exciting as they could be with out decent music!

One of the best things about watching movies as I grew up in the 1980's was the awesome theme music that a lot of the films had. The theme music, like the movies themselves, used to be an experience when you listened to them back in the day.

Modern movie soundtracks just don't seem to have the same 'punch' that the soundtracks of old had. That's why this list contains both original scores and popular songs from some classic cinematic gems from the decade of the Rubik's Cube!

Give a listen, won't you?!

#5) The theme from "Gremlins"

This movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. Just had to mention that up front. And while being one of those movies that spans the horror, comedy and Christmas film genres (That's right! Like "Die Hard", it takes places during the Happiest Time of the Year!), "Gremlins" had one of those insanely catchy themes that you cannot help but hum to yourself for days after watching the film.

#4) "Teacher, Teacher" by .38 Special

This was and still is one of my favorite songs from a movie soundtrack. EVER! "Teachers" was one of those 'teachers fighting the system' movies that were so popular during the decade. This song perfectly summed up the story and was done by .38 Special, a band that mixed southern-style rock with arena rock, thus ensuring my love of them to this day!

I still have a copy of the soundtrack to the movie that belonged to my dad, which I still listen to. Because it's awesome.

#3) The theme from "Indiana Jones"

This piece of music is, without a doubt, one of the most recognizable tunes in the history of motion pictures!

Just listening to it makes me want to start searching for a lost tomb or some religious artifact. As long as there are no spiders. I hate spiders, Chuck. I hate them!

#2) "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Junior

Would the movie "Ghostbusters" have been as epic as it was without the golden tones of Ray Parker Junior?

I do not think so.

Does bustin' make me feel good?

......Yes. Yes, it does

And the #1 move theme of the '80s is ......

#1) "The Touch" by Stan Bush

In a movie where Optimus Prime died and Cybertron was nearly obliterated by Orson Welles (he voiced Unicron), we got one the greatest, fist pumping, get-you-fired-up rock anthems of the 1980's. I put "The Touch" above all other movie themes because none of them, not even "Indiana Jones", puts a spring in my step and fire in my gut the way this song does.

It is not a perfect song, by any means. But for 'sheer rocking out and making you feel good' music, you'd be hard pressed to find one better!!

Marty McFly Re-does 'Back to the Future' Trailer or "Gonna' Go Back In Time ....Again"

Michael J. Fox recently made a promo for this years "SCREAM Awards" on Spike TV.

What kind of promo, you ask?

How about a shot for shot remake of the original teaser trailer for the '80s classic, "Back to the Future"!

How awesome is this? Despite being severely affected by Parkinson's, Mr. Fox pulled it off spectacularily. And the whole thing is for a 'Back to the Future' reunion with Elizabeth Shue and Lea Thompson at the 2010 SCREAM Awards, October 19th.

The McRib IS Coming Back or "The Greatest Comeback EVER!!!"

It's back, baby! McDonald's restaurants are bringing back the McRib, the sandwich which will not die, for a limited engagement of six weeks, starting November 2nd.

Is this news, in and of itself, in any way, shape or form 'geeky'? Probably not.

But, what goes better with a chilled bottle of Mountain Dew on those long nights of YouTube mining, WOW raids and messing around on Facebook?

NOTHING!!

Exo-skeletons Help Disabled People Walk Again or "Robocop Is Only 20 Years Now"

Technology grows by leaps and bounds everyday. And when one of those leaps opens the door for the creation of a real, live cyborg, I get chills.

The above promotional video shows a lady who has suffered severe spinal damage using a powered exo-skeleton called 'eLegs', a civilian spin-off of the US military's Human Universal Load Carrier (HULC). The 'eLegs' is not yet commercially available, but still, this is really exciting!

By my calculations, if the cyber nerds at Berkley Bionics keep working on this project with all due diligence, within say, 20 years, senior citizens won't just be yelling at kids to get off the lawn, they'll be punting any trespassers right off the lawn with their 'Iron Man' power suits!

Man Proves 360 Swing Possible or "Darwin Would Be Proud"

Natural selection, it's wonderful thing. When stupid people do stupid things, it make me smile.

And chuckle. A lot.

I am of a mind to send this into "The Darwin Awards".

How To Deal With Zombies Chart or "Got Undead?"

Seriously, this poster is a work of freaking genius! If (and when) the Zombie Apocalypse goes down, you better be sure to pack this along with a copy of "The Zombie Survival Guide" in your survival gear.

Right next to your boom-stick and beef jerky.

Video of the Day: Hoobstank Cover of "Ghostbusters"

Gotta' love any band who covers this song and makes it rock even harder than the original!

Japan Creates Exo-Suit For Kids or "The Invincible Iron Toddler"

Sakakibara Kikai, the company that made the "Land Walker", has constructed a kid sized version of their 'half-a Gundam'. The mere thought of a bratty child in control of this gives me a full-body shudder. The company says that they have no plans to put these into mass production, but who knows how long that will last?

I mean, can you imagine the playground of your local elementary school when the kid that everyone picks on shows up in one of these? He'd roof every kickball in the place!

Replace That Song In Your Head With Another One or "The Song That Never Ends .... Finally Does"

Ever had a song stuck in your head that you just can't get rid of? Like the theme from "The A-Team" or one of those goddamn "Crazy Frog" songs? Well worry no more!

You can use 'unhear it', a website that uses remixes of other annoying songs to get the annoying song currently taking up space in your dome out of it.

I use this site a lot. I get all kinds of songs stuck in my head. So if you would excuse me, I have to use the site right now. I heard a "Spice Girls" song on the radio and I'll be damned if I let those girls set up shop again.
